MMKETiaB RESEARCH COmnTES REPOST J.M* Banhart read the Consaittee Report as follows: A nine-year resume of Beaters' industrial contract Insulation shipments is presented with this cofladttee report* The Table presenting statistical reporting periods of aeaber companies, subaitted with the coesittee1s report last fall, should also be consulted since several companies have with drawn from membership during this nine-year period* Organic Cellular Insulations: In light of the growing acceptance of foam insulations for contract applications, the coealttee suggests that the matter of including them in our statistics! program be again re viewed by the Board of Directors. fiber Glass Statistics: fiber Glass insulation industry shipments are partially represanted in the trade statistics of thres associations, but no all-encompassing statistical progrsm exists--outside of the census cceducted by the U.S. Department of Coaeerce* Since there Is a need for trada statistics, and the four fiber glass manufacturers are members of RXMA, we would welcome the opportunity to develop a comprehensive statistical program for them, if so l&stxuctsd by the Board of Directors. Be indicated that a follow up program was Imperative. following the 1CCMA Meeting, the Board of Directors met in special session. A notion was aade, seconded, and unanimously passed That the 1IZMA Board of Directors request that a study of the mineral fiber (fibrous glass and mineral wool) industry be undertaken by the United States Public Health Service with respect to alleged health hazards. The seope of the study to Include environmental, clinical, and epidemiological investigations. The Board of Directors authorizes the Health and Safaty Coomittae to procatd with the initiation of this study as soon as practical. A notion was made, seconded, sad unanimously passed fhat the name of the Coenittee be changed to: Occupational, Health end Safety Ccemittee. A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed .. Shat the educational presentation program to IDCNA shall be tha responsibility of ths Occupational Health and Safety Ccomittee.
