Gittelman, Industrial Hygienist, Orange Co. Califor nia Health Dept. (Anaheim 71^-776-5551). He was concerned with the chemical nature of Therminol. This request resulted from a pump failure and sub sequent overheating in a plastic extrusion machine which caused Therminol vapors to be evolved. For some reason the Health Dept, was called in to con sider effects on personnel. I gave him the general chemical composition of Ther minol FR-0 (specific Therminol determined from cus tomer list) and the names of our medical and industrial hygiene people (Dr. Kelly and Mr. Wheeler) in case he had further specific questions. The company concerned is Plastics Products Co., Garden Grove, California. Mr. Gittelman did not seem overly alarmed about this case, seemed familiar with chlori nated biphenyls, and gave the impression that the case was of somewhat routine nature. : L. R.
