Chrysler Center 417-05-1- INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE SURVEY Summary An Industrial Hygiene Investigation was conducted at the Trenton Chemical Plant on September 18, 19 and 24, 1985 to determine employee exposure levels to asbestos, lead and total particulate. Results from the air monitoring Indicated that all employee exposure levels were below their respective permissible exposure limits (PEL). Discussion An Industrial Hygiene Investigation of the Trenton Chemical Plant was completed on September 24, 1985 and the results are discussed below. Friction Products Building An evaluation of the running operations was performed during this survey. In addition area samples were taken in the cafeteria and the aisleways adjacent to the employee time clocks. Results from the environmental monitoring Indicated all employee exposure levels to asbestos dust were below the 0.5 flbers/cc permissible exposure limit (PEL). " ` The exhaust ventilation was measured on the systems In operation and all were operating at satisfactory velocities. As Is required under the OSHA Asbestos Standard 29CFR 1910.1001(j) employees who are exposed to 0.1 flbers/cc or greater are required to have an annual chest x-ray and pulmonary function test. In addition employees should be notified In writing of their sample results within 5 days as required under the OSHA Asbestos 29CFR 1910.1001 and Lead 29CFR 1910.1025 standards.
