The EPA and NDDEQ performed a joint reconnaissance inspection at this facility. No one appeared to be on site when inspectors arrived, but shortly after their arrival, facility representatives arrived. The inspectors presented their credentials and explained the purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the need for industrial stormwater permit coverage, and that the inspection was initiated as part of an industrial stormwater non-filer effort on behalf of EPA in order to permit industrial facilities in need of stormwater permit coverage. Facility representatives indicated there were no industrial activities occuring on site, that the facility was only used for storage of farm equipment. Facility representatives had stated that the dairy operation had been out of business for over 20 years, and the trucking operation had shut down as well. Facility representatives allowed the inspectors to walk the site, where they observed no industrial activities occuring. Though inspectors did observe three large fueling tanks and informed EPA Region 8's Oil Pollution Act inspectors of these tanks.
