November 21, 1960 Frank L. Seamans bckert, Seamans,, and Oborin Attorney's at Law 10th Floor, Porter Building Sixth Avenue and Grant Street Pittsburgh 19, Pennsylvania Dear .Mr, Seamans: Cuite some time ago, I spoke to Dudley Irwin about the proper way to bring to the attention c your Company a projected plan for the expansion of the physical facilities of The Kettering Laboratory. Since that time, and during the development of our program which : is now at its final stage, Dudley has retired, and I am in some doubt as to the best procedure. I would be pleased to present the latter to you, by correspondence or in any other aanner you may suggest, but I do not wish to take your time or to impose upon you. I would be grateful for your advice on this, at your convenience. I think I should say that I have talked with Brs. Hughes and McMillan of Kaiser and Reynolds, respectively, when the opportunity afforded itself to do so, and they are fully aware of our plans and wishes, I spoke with them, as I am now writing to you, in relation to their individual companies and not in connection with the joint investigation of the behavior of the fluorides, primarily because tiie long-term interests of the Laboratory and of its sponsors nay well go beyond the concerns of this investigation. It may be, that as the leader of the Lawyer's group, you will look at this differently, and if you do, I shall be entirely willing to consider this the wishes of this group as a whole. We now have plans and specifications and firm bids for the construction of a new wing to the Laboratory. I am bringing all of the facts to the attention of our sponsors, therefore, at this tine in order to invite their support for our efforts. Thus far the response has been most gratifying to me, and I have little doubt as to the outcome, but I am anxious to have the continuing support of our industrial sponsors, and I would like, very much, to present our general ideas and purposes to your Company at an early convenient time. Cordially yours, RAK:ss Robert A. Kehoe, M. 0 N9869
