The information contains a Monsanto summary of published health and environmental effects, as well as information from other news media to give a balanced perspective. We, too, are concerned about Dr. Weeks'(Los Alamos Lab) report on permeation of garment materials by PCB, et al. I have talked to Dr. Weeks twice by phone and told him of my concerns. Dr. Weeks also pointed out that he knows the material referred to as Aroclor 1254 contains a high percent age of trichlorobenzenes (and possibly other transformer fluid additives) He indicated that he would try to correct the report, but didn't say how. I hope he can successfully retract this article, but am not too optimistic about his possible success in doing so. However, as Jim Murphy indicated, our industrial hygienists still feel that neoprene is an adequate protective material against PCB skin contact and recommend it specifically in many cases.
