(800) 969-VINYL (8469) or (216) 376-6500 VINYL INSTITUTE ADDS FIVE COMPANIES TO MEMBERSHIP WAYNE, New Jersey, January 5, 1994 -- The Vinyl Institute has added five companies to its membership this past year, bringing the total to 26: The Geon Company (Cleveland, Ohio), formerly the Geon Vinyl Division of The BFGoodrich Co., has joined as a full member; Companhia Petroquimica Camacari (Brazil), Norsk Hydro A.S. (Norway), and Mitsubishi Kasei Vinyl Company (Japan) have joined as associate members; and BASF Corporation (Parsippany, New Jersey) has joined as an affiliate member. The Institute's full members include 11 U.S. companies that either manufacture vinyl feedstocks, or vinyl resins and compounds. Associate members, of which there are five, represent foreign companies that do not have PVC manufacturing operations in the U.S.; and the Institute's eight affiliate members manufacture vinyl additives such as impact modifiers and processing aids. There also is a category for supporting members, currently comprised of two companies that produce vinyl film and sheet products.
