Heat Transfer Systems The heat transfer system on the Luwas on the 4NDPA plant at present contains Santotherm FR2. It has been decided not to change this over to Santotherm 66 (HB40) because of the potential fire hazard which would be involved and precautions are being taken to minimise and contain any spille or leakages which may occur from this system. The only other Aroclor heat transfer system in use at Newport 1b on the Santolube 900 plant. Change-over of this system to Santotherm 66 is under evaluation, but no change has yet been made. Disposal of PCB Wastes The setting up of a system for disposal of liquid and solid PCB wastes (both from Newport works and customer plants) by incineration is being negotiated with Purle Brothers Haste Disposal.
