( CELANESE QUAUTY BISHOP PLANT SAFETY POLICY All accidents and occupational illnesses are preventable. It Is the policy of the Bishop Plant to peform all jobs safely and in a manner that will not cause injury or an occupational illness to any employee. The only acceptable standard is zero. Every supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her employees and accountable to the next level of supervision. This means that it is the supervisor's responsibility to ensure a safe working environment. Safety is a major component in performance evaluations. Safety is an individual responsibility. All employees are expected to perform their jobs in such a way as to prevent injury or illness to themselves or their coworkers. Employees are expected to wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform all jobs in a safe manner and in accordance with established safety policies, procedures and job training. All injuries and identified near misses will be investigated by appropriate supervision and all deficiencies will be corrected promptly. Unsafe conditions will be corrected by modifying facilities or changing procedures. Unsafe acts caused by improper training will be corrected by proper training. Unsafe acts caused by employee failure to apply training will cause that employee to be subjected to corrective action. People are the most critical element in the success of a safety and health program.
