Hum November 1, 195>3 Formulators1 Handbook No 88 These tables include essentially all active base colors, general and local, currently used by S-W FV&L Departments. The first por tion is a numerical listing, first of generals BA through BI, then of locals AB through IB. The second portion is arranged chemically by materials class, then sub-grouped by individual pigments numer ically, shoving all bases using that pigment. In the numerical arrangement, a slightly different chart form is used for the CB7100 and CB7hOO series, Chicago Technical Service vinyl bases, in order to show data pertinent to that type. Data shown otherwise are a compromise in order to use one form of table for the variety of bases which are found. The NVM percent shown is total, not vehicle NVM as the former has been readily obtainable from most formula cards. Solvent is not shown except in the special form for vinyl bases;, or where there is no resinous constituent, in which cases the solv ent is identified in the vehicle column. Vehicles consisting of four or more, and except in special cases three or more, materials (excluding solvents) are identified only as blends in order to meet space requirements. When a base cannot be identified as belonging to one particular pigments class (as in the case of putty, oak or maple stain, etc.), it will be found only in the numerical series and not in the classi fied section.
