I am somewhat disturbed at tho blood findings; though if anything they serve to exclude lead poisoning, which produces an anemia. These findings suggest that the patient may have some lung disease other than the emphysema which we have not yet been able to identify; and since it has been over a year since we have examined him, I wonder if it might not be a good idea to check on his examination again. Since some laboratory work would be required, it would be necessary to carry this out in my office; and this would be contingent, of course, on Miller being able to cotae to this office. In view of the fact that Dr. Lapidus' examination reveals findings essentially the same as ours of June 19^6 there is no necessity for re-examination, froia the point of view of contesting the case. I might mention that the inference that the original complaint of dizziness and faintness were "possible and perhaps probable", related to lead poisoning, is of course wholly unwarranted and would not stand up for very long under cross-examination, since dizziness and fainting can be caused by almost any disease and are, indeed, quite common with the type of heart disease Miller has Sincerely, 17?3:rad Willard ^achlo, M. i>.
