These studies were designed to obtain initial screening data on the distributionof PFOS in
biota. Samples within each study were extracted and analyzed using high-performance liquid

number ofsamples, we are providing the results so that EPA can place in context existing

Study 1:_Screening of PFOS Levels in Eagles and Albatross. Five samplesofplasma from `eagles and albatross were analyzed. Threeofthe five eagles were less than 250 days old; the ageofthe remaining two birds are unknown.
