Identification of an Unknown Material
Dear Marshall:
The sample we collected from the field toilet, Construction shop area, which seemed to be oozing out from the floor has been analyzed by our R/D Skill Center. This material is identified as sodium carbonate. The report of analysis is attached.
Sodium carbonate is not considered to health problems. Cleaning and patching up all that is required to abate the problem. this information to those who were working

Enclosed, please find a copy of the IR spectrum of the white powdery material found on the floor areas at the Institute plant.
This spectrum is a virtual match for sodium carbonate - a white, odorless, non-combustible, low toxicity material. I've also included a copy of a reference spectrum of this material for comparison. If I can be of further help in this matter please give me a call.
