Dear Dr. Kehoe* Several days ago I wrote to Jack Bloomfield inquiring whether he had written to Dr. E. C. Holmblad giving him any definite information about the dates and program that the AIHA would like to have for the 1945 Annual Meeting, and I have just had a reply from his secretary stating that he is on vacation for the next two weeks. From the information I have at hand, I imagine he has turned over this assignment to you and I am wondering whether you have sent him any specifio information. I am attaching copy of a letter which was addressed to both Mr. Bloomfield and nyself, dated August 10, 1944. I have not replied to this letter, and apparently Mr. Bloomfield has not answered it. Since you are Chairman of the Pro gram Committee, you will no doubt want to give Dr. Holmblad as much information as possible at the present time. You have also received a copy of Dr. Holmblad's letter of August 29^ 1944, addressed to Bloomfield, Kehoe, Barnes, Littlefield, and Cook. I feel that our Association should definitely be represented at the meeting on September 12. A place for this meeting has not been designated, but this information could no doubt be obtained from Dr. Holmblad* If you could be present at this meeting, it would be very helpful. If you cannot, it would seem desirable to have either one or all of the other members of the Program Committee present to meet with the American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons Program Committee. I believe the other members of your committee are Cook, Brandt and Kronenberg. Since all of these men are located in Chicago, there should be no difficulty in having one or more of them attend this Program Committee Meeting. Whoever represents our Association should be brought up-to-date on the various complications which have arisen in connection with our Annual Meeting for 1945. ^ .... --f \ N 24903 Dr* R. A* Kehoe -2' August 31, 1944 In Dr. Ho lab lad's letter of August 29, he suggests that our Association might wish three days for meetings. This is a longer tiske than we have ever had before and I doubt very much if there is any need for a three day program. In 1943 we had one and one-half days and in 1944, one and one-half days plus ?Sne-half day joint meeting with the AAIP&S. It is my personal feeling that two days are sufficient for our Association, and it would seem desirable to give consideration to having a one-half day joint meeting between the two groups. The problem of concurrent meetings is one of great importance, as you realise, and I feel that it is the duty of our representative at this meeting to cane to sane definite understand ing on this subject* If I o&n send either you or other members of the Program Committee any additional information, I will be glad to do so* Very truly yours.
