By tho nid of combined GC and mass spectrometry Mr. Jensen of t this inctituto has found tho unknowns to ,be polychlorinated biphenyls which among other companies are manufactured by Monsanto* trade namo Aroclor. Two gno chromatograms are also added to chow that the chlorinated biphenyls arc enriched in ecological series. - In tho sample of the oca eagle wore foundt Polychlorinated biphenyls 0 ppnj ordinary chlorinated COpeotieideo 00 ppm and mercury' 40 ppm. At present we have no knowledge of the biological significanoe of the prcoencc of these compounds in living orgnniomc.
