Their complaint was that they were exposed to asbestos without adequate protection and indoctrination into its hazards. It seems ironic that this is a plant in which we have an ideal asbestos monitoring program in which safety, industrial hygiene, and medicine have all acted cooperatively to get a good handle on asbestos exposure problems. The problems seem to be a lack of communication between those involved in the new job assignment negotiations and the people responsible for health monitoring. This could result in a citation.
