I ' D~at ~f-~~1 ' _______,i I r-u/t '1/t ' Date City of New Iberia- HWY 14 WWTP (LA0120201) New Iberia, LA Inspection Date 10/10/2017 Section I- Introduction PURPOSE OF THE INSPECTION EPA Region 6 inspector, Michael Williams, arrived at City of New lberia-HWY 14 Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at 12:26 pm on October 10, 2017 for an unannounced inspection. LDEQ inspector, Shane Miller were present and assisted with the inspection. We met with Vince Palumbo, New Iberia Director. I presented my credentials'to Vince and informed him that this was an EPA.Iead inspection to determine compliance with the Clean Water Act and the 2005 Consent Decree. The scope of the inspection was with permit LA0120201, the facility operation and maintenance under the Clean Water Act. The information presented in this report is based on the materials and information supplied by the City of New Iberia, representatives (the permittee), observation during the inspection and records and reports maintained by the permittee. FACILITY DESCRIPTION City of New lberia-HWY 14 WWTP is located in New Iberia, LA. The plant was built in 2007 as apart Consent Decree that the City of New Iberia is under. The plant is a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) system. The plant consists of grit removal chamber, bar screen, 8 SBR aeration basins, 2 chlorine chambers, digester, dewatering facility with belt press: Sludge is transferred to the Tete Bayou Plant for lime treatment. The design flow for the plant is 6 MGD. Section II- Observations This inspection revealed the following observations: During the inspection all areas were well maintained and all essential units were operating adequately. The records and reports form the months of August and September 2017 we're reviewed. The site has algae blooms that occur during the summer months due to the East to West orientation of the plant with direct sunlight exposure.
