4B FLANGE JOINT INSULATION
4bi fixed flange covers
4B1.1 Flange covers shall be fabricated with 1^-" thick foamglas insulation. Flange covers shall he applied prior to the shell insulation.
4B1.2
Fixed flange covers shall be made to fit close around the flanges allowing a minimum of internal void. (See figure 11A) The sides of the flange covers shall extend to the vessel shells. (See figure 11B)
4B1.3 The contact surface (insul. to shell) shall be buttered with 30-4-5 sealing mastic of sufficient thickness to insure a seal between shell and cover. (See figure 11A & B)

30-45 sealing mastic or 31-99 P.V.A. mastic shall be used as the Joint cement (insul. to insul.) (See figure 11B)
