It consists of a transmitter at the location where the temperature or pressure is being measured, an electrical circuit for conveying the currents auto matically sent out by this .transmitter, and a recording instrument at headquarters for mechanically translating the currents received into the continuous charted record. The durations and not the intensities of the transmitter current impulses are pro portional to the values measured. Only a simple two wire circuit is needed. Where available any existing telephone line may be employed without danger of inter ference with or from conversation carried, inductance or line capacity. Features are the use of any kind and frequency of line current, small power con sumption, synchronous power sources unnecessary, Bristol's standard measuring elements and applicability to remote control.
