Gilmore Humble Oil and Refining Co., Houston, Texas My dear Mr. Gilmore: You are right in suspecting that th Ethyl Gasoline Corporation is interested in the out come of the case which we have discussed. In fact for a number of years I have been investigating cases of this sort on hehalf of the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation and since no bona fide case of lead poisoning has de- . veloped, and since no claims against the Corporation have been successfully made, the Corporation is natural ly interested in keeping Itself free of any record Of lost claims* This case, though a bizarre one from the point of view of lead poisoning, is no exception and although I am quite sure that there is no point in bringing the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation directly into the suit, yet I can promise you that every assistance will be given to the Humble Oil Refinery Company in defending its suit by the Corporation. As a consequence of this point of view, neither Dr. Schradln or myself would consider presenting a bill to the Humble Oil and finery Company* . I have talked the matter over with Ik'. Schradln and we have agreed, if you consider it advisable for him to be present, we will make it a point to be there at the proper time. I.trust that you will keep me informed as I shall not wish to be away from Cincinnati longer than is absolutely necessary to confer with you and to present my testimony. The date which has been set for the trial coincides with the last week of our academic year so that it will be a considerable inconvenience for me to be away.
