Shanghai Health Study Update
Progress is being made towards establishing a new contract with CinPathogen and extending the University of Colorado grant to support finishing the Shanghai Health Study. Key issues include providing advance funding to keep the lab operating while new contracts are being established and developing specific deliverables and timelines for the new contract and grant. All sponsors have executed contract amendment 4 agreeing to additional funding.

April 11 :
API Executive Committee reached consensus on
(1) supporting the advance of $800K to Dr. Irons providing that he agrees to certain
terms. No additional funds until contract is in place. Attached is
the letter that Red
Cavaney sent to Dr. Irons.
(2) funding through CinPathogen conditional on all API contract criteria being met. The draft list of action items from the meeting:
April 16:
Dr. Irons signed letter. API wired $800K to CinPathogen. Irons isgned letter on April
12; IT challenges in transmitting to API.
Consortium conference call to further develop list of deliverables to support items in
IronslAPlletter. API has discussed with Irons, so
understanding and agreement
can be more quickly achieved.
April 26
Consortium call scheduled to finalize deliverables and get up update on API
contracting criteria being met.
