SUBJECT: "Hazards of VC1" Training

The OSHA standard for VC1 emissions requires that employees vho elect not to wear respiratory protection for exposures under 25 ppm shall be. informed quarterly of the hazards of VC1 and the purpose, proper use and limitations of respiratory devices.
The next series of lectures will be given twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 30, These lectures will be presented for three weeks. All VC1 operators will be scheduled out one hour before their regular "B" shift. H-C Maintenance personnel is invited to attend, but must be scheduled so that no more than 40 employees attend any one session
The lecture will be divided into three 20-minute sessions. Dr, T. R. Robinson, Plant Medical, will cover the nature of the health hazard and the status of the medical surveillance program. Mr, H. M. Taylor, Corporate Medical, will cover the types, use and limitations of respiratory equipment presently available. I will cover specific hazardous operations and the protective steps required to avoid exposure and bring everyone up to date on the progress being made and the current status of the overall hygiene program.
