Mr* Cardins r stated that a letter had been received from Mr. C. Simon, Treasurer of the lational Lead Company, authorising John T. Lewis a Bros* Company to purchase $190,000 worth of United States Certificates, Class B, 1944* It was unanimously deeldodl to make this purchase entirely through the Pennsylvania Company* The Board was very sorry to learn of Mr* Shipper*s death on September 12, 1943* Prior to Mr* Shipper's retirement. May 1, 1978# he had served the company faithfully for a great many years* It is the desire of the meeting that proper expressions of sympathy be sent to the family from the company.
