At the request of Mr. b, X. Lowe of our Bakellte Company we are sending you the following Information on XDA*2k5& vinyl resin formulation which you plan to use as a swlaalng pool liner. The base vinyl resin is one approved by the Food and Drug Administration as food packaging sate* rial. The plasticiser is likewise approved for packaging of foods with a high water content, the stabiliser has been used in resins on which extraction studies have been wade and it is reported that no extraction of stabiliser could be detected In a two-wonth period of contact with water.

Ibis pool was to have been built for a hotel la this area* be have just beea informed by the State Department of health that a plastic liner typo constructed pool would not be permitted la Such aa installation. In reviewing the law as published cn the natter, we find that it does not specifically prohibit the ase of plastlo liners. Us, therefore, believe this "ruling to be merely on opinion of sene of the personnel In the 8tate Deportment of Health.
Ve hope that von will have Information available which will assist as la taking this natter before these people for a review. Nrhope you can give as published data. Installation data, tha names of aaeh commercial users sad any other information which nay be of help in this natter.
