Britton, "Ponsol" Lab .STATUS OF "SEVRON" YELLOW 3EL PROBLEM INVENTORY Early Warning List Charge 00002, 7,500 lbs. standard was manufactured in Azo under a Dye Modernization test authorization. Azo inventory claims six press boxes of dye, of which only five can now be located. This material was sampled and gave the following dyetest: shade 5/4 Br, stains equal to standard, and solubility equal to standard. I recommend that this charge be picked up and finished with the current campaign of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL. L. C. Hale Test: L. C. Hale used "Sevron" Yellow 3RL in a Dye Modernization test at Koch Engineering Company. Three fiber packs of dry dye which were shipped back from this test found its way to the cross walk between Eosine Building and Azo G&M Old House. This material is supposed to be shipped to the "Ponsol" Warehouse. This material was sampled and found to be shade 5, with a 5/4 inferior solubility and with staining 4 heavy on nylon, wool and Arnel. * I recommend that this material be refinished with current production. Also in the "Ponsol" warehouse, under the code of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL 3-2z from L. C. Hale, is returned wet crude from the same test. This material was sampled and found to be 4 dull in shade, with staining and solubility equal to standard. I recommend that this material be finished with current production. Last Campaign of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL Two double chargjes, 84/85 and 86/87, manufactured in the last campaign of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL are off quality due to inferior solubility. Test authorization TA-C-73-23 has been issued to cover the rework of this material which will give Charge 84/85 with acceptable quality and Charge 86/87 with a 4/3 inferior solubility for blending. February 16, 1973 Status of "Sevron" Yellow 3EL Problem Inventory Current Campaign of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL Prior to this carapaigh, a single charge of "Sevron" Orange CL with a higher than process concentration of salt was processed in the "Sevron" set. The second charge of the current campaign of "Sevron" Yellow 3RL was noted to be contaminated with "Sevron" Orange CL. It appears that the "Sevron" Orange CL had built up in the lines and presses and was picked up in the first two double charges of the "Sevron" Yellow 3RL campaign. Visual in spection of the press boxes of Charges 92/93 and 94/95 showed con tamination to be localized within the cakes; however, since this inspection does not represent a uniform sampling, it is felt that the extent of the contamination is unknown. Also, the samples of press cake submitted for dyetest were nonuniform with respect to dyetest results. It is my recommendation that Charges 92 through 95 be semi-finished and disposition of these charges be made upon the basis of the semi-finished dyetest. G&M Semi-finished Material There is approximately 16,000 lbs. of standard equivalent semi finished "Sevron" Yellow 3KL, Charges 158, 159 and 185, having 1 inferior solubility at Azo Grinding and Mixing,: Wo technical effort has been expended to date.to rework this material.
