A* I understand our railroad altuatlon now we have agreed that one track will b* Installed on CEA 1430 (center line of E-5563.5) and room left for a future track to the west of this, sharing the same loading docks, which would mean a canter line of the track at about E-5539. Would you Investigate the possibility of specifying your docks so that they can be adapted to loading from either side with a minimum expenditure? This approval will also require that piping to tha docks be kept rather well centered or coordinate E-5551 which is, I believe, the dock centerline.
As to car spots reading from north to south we will have
1. A sixty foot box car space with appropriately located Warehouse door.
2. A forty foot (8000) tank car space and loading dock.
3. A standard (501) box car spot with appropriate Warehouse door.
4. A gap of 25-35 feet.
5. A 40 foot tank car spot and appropriate dock.
6. Another 40 foot tank car spot and appropriate dock.
The docks In 5 & 6 are to be spaced so that 10,000 gallon cars can be utilized at these spots concurrently in the future.
This gives us the capability of handling two box cars and three tank cars per switching period (usually 24 hours) and is considered adequate to meet our needs through 1971.
Thanks for your help In providing what sounds like an excellent layout.
