Kehoe Kettering Laboratory Urd.vers.ity of Cincinnati Cincinnati, Ohio August 15, 1941 McLaren Airl^PlSjPfrf^ Dear Doctor: Tie, as the Compensation Insurance Carriers for the McLaren Auto Supply Co., of Mahanoy City, Penna., have been confronted with a claim by an employee of theirs in which he alleges total permanent disability, arising out of the handling of gasoline. Our investigation discloses that the gasoline was sold to the McLaren Auto Supply Co. by both the American Oil Co. and the Puritan Petroleum Co. The matter has been taken up with these two companies and likewise with the Ethyl Corporation of New York, and it has been suggested by Mr* Richard Page, Esq. and Mr. Oscar Lewis, both of the Ethyl Corp., that we turn over to you all of our medical testimony in the case, and request that you give us what assistance you can in defending this case. Naturally, if the case is decided adversely for us, we, under the right accorded us by the Penna. Compensation Act, would take action against the oil companies to,subrogate any loss we may suffer. We are enclosing herewith copies of our complete medical testimony together with notes of testimony covering two compensation hearings; the one held inPottsville, Penna. on June 3rd, and the other at PhiXa. on July 11th. Naturally, these papers are of extreme importance to us, and we would ask that you see that they receive particular care and would also ask that you return them to us just as soon as they have served your purpose as it would be necessary for us to use these papers further in our investigation. As there is another hearing planned at which time a decision will be made as to the compensability of this condition, we feel that prompt action is necessary in the matter, due to the fact that the date for this next hear ing will probably be set without much notice to us, and we would like the investigation to be completed by the time the hearing comes on.
