Kehoe De t r o i t , Mic iiig a x June 12, 1940 Dear B ob : In connection with some recent correspondence I believe you have had with Schaefer on the subject of air sampling, I am wondering what your opinion is regarding the significance of fairly high TEL concentrations in air for short periods of time. On recent visits to Baton Rouge I noticed on at least a oouple of oooasions, a fairly strong TEL odor right in the Administration Building. Since conditions of this type seldom exist for more than short periods of time, they would not be picked up by an inte grated 24 or 50 hour test of the type n o w used. It m a y be, of course, that short exposures are too insignificant, physiologically speaking, to retain jour attention, while they might still be of interest to the management from the point of view of good opera tion.
