Attached for review and comment by November S, 1973 is proposed standard. In summary, proposal:
e Reduce permissible exposure limit to.0.5 fibers/m^ (8-hr. TWA) and S fibers/mJ ceiling except for construction areas.
Adds additional requirements for regulated work areas, worker rosters, hygiene facili ties, worker training, signs and labels, and monitoring (1/month for TLV, 1/every 3 months for > 1/2 TLV - all monitoring with membrane filter method with phase contrast illumination) and medical surveillance.

Requires retention of records for 40 years or for duration of worker's employment plus
20 years.
Specific requirements are attached for all recipients and complete standard to addressees only.
