Thank you for your interest in hosting the U.S. Secretary of Energy at your event. To ensure that the appropriate individual within the Department of Energy is participating in your event and because the Office of the Secretary is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards, we need the information requested below before we can agree to confirm a speaker.

Briefly describe the event in detail including the purpose and desired role of the Secretary (i.e. deliver keynote remarks, attend an event, meet with attendees etc.):
Eric Grey, Vice President, External and Government Affairs egrev(tieei.org and (b) (6) EEI is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. This event is our annual conference and thought leadership forum and brings together electric company and technology company leaders, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and media to discuss a range of energyrelated issues of interest to electric companies.
Secretary Wright is invited to participate in a fireside chat with one of EEI's member company CEOs during a keynote session. If his schedule permits, we would also invite Secretary Wright to attend a private meeting with electric company CEOs who are members of EEI's Board of Directors.

This is not a fundraiser.
We are expecting at least 1,000 attendees at this event. (EEI 2024 ended with 1,300 attendees.)

This is a widely attended event that attracts electric and technology company leaders, federal and state policymakers, stakeholders of the electric power industry, and media.
Will the attendees at the event include persons with a diversity of views or interests, or representatives from throughout an industry or profession, or the range of persons interested in a matter? (If yes, please describe.)
Is the event open to the public (this includes ticketed individuals)? If not, please describe who is privately invited.
Who are other VIPs or speakers confirmed and in what role?
This is a widely attended event that attracts electric and technology company leaders, federal and state policymakers, stakeholders of the electric power industry, and media. All attendees have an interest in energy-related issues and particularly the role electricity plays in driving our nation's economy. This event is open to the paying public; there are registration fees to attend.
If the Secretary's schedule can accommodate a meeting with members of EEI's Board of Directors, this would be an invitation-only rivate event. Vicki Hollub, President and CEO, Occidental Safra Catz, CEO, Oracle

Yes, a prompter will be available if needed. No podium. We would have the Secretary seated in an armchair for a fireside chat.

We promote the conference through EEI's social channels. We do not livestream.

We would waive the registration fee. The government fee to register is $500.

The Secretary is welcome to bring a guest, but guests of our CEOs/Board members typically do not attend this conference.

At this time, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson has been invited to participate. We have asked the Speaker to be one of our keynote opening speakers. The official staff is handling the request for the Speaker.

This event is outside of Speaker Johnson's district. At this time, the Speaker is the only member of the Louisiana Congressional delegation that has been invited. No plans at this time to invite the remainder of the delegation.
