Total exposure hours for September is 13,320. Total exposure hours year-to-date is 110,374. Last lost time injury occurred on October 2, 1982. Total exposure hours since last lost time injury is 443.407. II. TRAINING Training subject for the month utilized a film entitled, "Hard At Work" relating to safe work habits with emphasis upon industrial fire hazards and fire safety programs. Sessions included a ques tion and answer period. HI. SAFETY AND HEALTH 1) The Plant sustained two (2) recordable injuries during September. In one instance, a mechanic_fractured a fin ger while operating a pneumatic wrench which spun, thus creating a pinch point. The second incident resulted when a Polymerization Supervisor pulled a leg muscle while de scending stairs during an emergency. 2) In the emergency noted above, the same Polymerization Super visor may have been exposed to a concentration of VCM ex ceeding one hundred parts per million (100 PPM). Appropriate medical surveillance was initiated. 3) Forty-two (42) employees were monitored for VCM exposure using the charcoal tube method. None exceeded the permissable exposure level of 1.0 ppm.
