We have asked the Purchasing Department that new materials be checked to make sure they do not contain crocidolite asbestos. You and other plants, of course, should also check out any new materials not in the Standards that you propose to use. Item 3 Item 4 Take samples with membrane filters - all concerned groups are in agreement with this. Specify "Torrit" dust collector (consider for Engineering Standards). We have no basis on which to comment on specific equipment. Our over-all goal is to meet the TLV and the necessary means to do so would be best determined by you. Item 9 Agree with your statement on proper ventilation of shops; hewever, your reccmmendation of monthly inspections and IBM reminders for exhaust systems should be your decision, based on the cost involved and whether you feel this is justified, as some of these specific items should be continually checked by personnel performing and supervising the operations.
