TO: FROM: RE: W. J. Sheehan R. T. Budovec October Activity Report November 3} 1969 Tool Engineering A. Design Section Work load in the design section reached the high for the year - 1400 hours. We were fortunate in obtaining a Tool Designer replacement for Mr. G. Orton. Mr. J. Scissom finished his tool making apprenticeship earlier this year and e xpressed a desire to go on to Engineering. He is now in training as a Tool De signer. Mr. Frank Ahrens retired during the month. Mr. C. Flasza has agreed to take his place as Lead Tool and Die Designer. B. N/C Programming Scheduled work load in this area has remained fairly stable. New Tool Room -Department 260 Work loads remain heavy requiring a 50 hour week and an occa sional Saturday. Repair Toolrooms Work loads in repair are continuing at a high level requiring both 9 hour days plus a considerable amount of repair being per formed outside. Handmade Work loads in handmade started to fall off at the beginning of the month, but then immediately turned around and went up to 2700 hours plus. General 1. The first FRP mold arrived and first try sampled obtained. The outlook for production of this part is very good with final debugging to be completed during the month of November. VPD-91-0002146
