In his absence I (a member of his staff) am taking the liberty (because I believe he would want you to be Informed at our earliest oppor tunity) of describing In general the analytical results on the samples of blood and urine which you have submitted. This is written on the basis of the results on only 19 blood samples and only 3 urine samples, but these relatively few results are so striking as group results that generalization can be made which I feel you should know at once. Dr. Kehoe's attention will be called to the completed series of results immediately on his return and X am sure that he will want to make Individual Interpretations and advise you on the overall situation. Of the 19 blood samples completed the lead concentration of 8 are definitely in the range consistent with symptoms and Intoxica tion. The lead concentration pf another 5 of the blood samples are at the very upper limit above which symptoms may occur, and the lead concentration in the remaining 6 are within a "safe" area but, none the less, as a group would suggest increased lead absorption. The concentration of lead in the 3 urine samples which have been completed are not alarmingly high but consistent with the results on the blood samples.
