Mittnachts During my absence the important question of Insurance rates for oil company employees and for others who are working with Ethyl Fluid was raised through your correspondence with Dr. Machle. Dr. Machle and I have discussed the question and It seems advisable to follow your suggestion to work up a report which will cover the whole question of the relative hazard of the occupations Involved. Fortunately for this purpose I have this year made it a point to re-study the lead excretion of a representative group of men engaged in mixing In the various types of plants which are current in this country. We shall soon have the analytical results available on these samples as specific evidence of the magnitude of their lead absorption. It would be inadvisable to issue a report at present without the inclusion of these data, therefore I believe it wise to wait until the analyses have been finished. Mean while we shall make a study of our records and shall extract from them all the pertinent information so that we can eventually prepare a report which will cover adequately ovary aspect of the problem, I shall let you know as soon as we are able to get this together but it will probably be a month or two before the analyses are completed.
