Appearance. Tbste b practually no limit to tlie sanations in light fast enamel colors, from Ixillutit hues to ilchcatr tints. Trsturc* such as stippled. mottled, snd ripph-d finishes can be had. Almost anv degree of surface trUtlivity is possi ble. from dull matte to high gloss.
Durability. Tlie properties of glasc provide tong life at km maintenance <r*t Some field installa tion* of porielain-cnamrh-d aluminum hate here in service more than ten seat*. with no deteriora tion of any kind ducrmahlc.
(Itmicil Resistance. Enameled ahimimicn b highly resistant to acids, alkalis and sulfides. Tht Purreloin Enamel Institute's aod durability rating In Class A for whites and patlrh, Class B for colors. The enamel doesn't stain, streak Of fade on exposure to strung detergents. Surface* have shown no sign of detemeation after ISO hours in a 20! salt spray.
Impact Resistance. In standard tots, samples averaged five impacts Iadore loss of coaling. No sharp dgev pcogrodve spalling or flaking oc curred.
Thermal Shock Resistance. In tests, panels heat ed to HJU deg F and plunged into cold water showed no eras ling or flaking.
Thermal Stability, hfifhin rtumclnl alumi num can hr he.itrd to within 100 F of tlie firmg tcmjxiaturr w o Ih x iI damage to the outing. (Fir ing temperatures are *?J0 to 1(7.20 F.) Dry cold and freezing tnnpf.itnnA do not affect it, nor docs alternate freezing and (flawing in the pccscnca of moisture.
Abrasion Resistance. The present lead'beartag enamels for aluminum are not resistant to abrasion as conxmtKHwl At*** ! enamels. Imt they are ten times nvae resistant than normal alkyd-amine paint, atvordmg to PFI.
