The Groundwater Program of the Division of Water Resources has received the report, May 2002, Surface Water end Groundwater Monitoring Report for Washington Works Facility and Local, Letart, and Dry Run LandfiUs. This report vyas dated July 2002 and was prepared by your Corporate Remediation Group.
This report documented the following increasing concentrations of C8 in both the groundwater and surface water at the Washington Works Plant and the Letart Landfill:

Our office is very concerned about these increasing concentrations of C8, particularly since almost all are above the recently calculated safe drinking water limit of 150 |jg/l.
Our office has three purposes to this letter. First, can your office give any explanation for these increasing concentrations? Second, can anything be done to get these concentrations down, or can a remediation system be put in place to reduce these concentrations?
