November 25 l ^ O Hr. S. Kitto Belle City Malleable Iron Company Racine, Wisconsin Dear Mr. Kitto: We are sending herewith the report of analysis of the spot sample of urins from The result is very high and if we may assume that there has been no contamination of this sample, it is sufficiently high to suggest recent lead exposure of dangerous magnitude. In fact, the result is of such order of magnitude as to be consistent with the occurrence of symptoms in this man. As only one sample was obtained, and as the circumstances of collection may have permitted con tamination, the final interpretation of this sample had perhaps best be made when the feces sample that is being collected, has been analyzed. We would recommend after considering all the results obtained to date on this man, that a sample of blood and a spot sample of urine be obtained ~ again, these to be followed by collection of a large (3 liter) sample of urine and another single sample of feces, . .. . .* .j . .- . In view of the high values in the spot sample of urine, I am sending along the report and comments to you at once. Dr, Kehoe is out of the laboratory and will return in a week or two, at which time he may wish to comment further on these results in the light of his knowledge of the conditions at1your plant. Very truly yours. WM: vr Willard itachle, M. D.
