Construction Traffic Problem of flow on Bay Street and Second Avenue South - McCullough. 2. Forklift truck signals - Danner. 3. Piping Code: Phenol - Danner. 4. Contractor Safety Manual - Gilmore. 5. Trip to P & P plants - Trafton. 6. Hourly Safety Committee Items from meeting of 1/28/75: A. It was suggested that a suggestion book, having a distinctive color and labelled "Safety Suggestion Log Book" be placed in each control room, maintenance and craft shop. Anyone would be permitted to write in a suggestion and the supervisor would be required to answer by writing in the book. This could be set up as a plant-wide program and publicized. The members of the Committee felt that this would be more effective than a safety suggestion system in which letters were written, etc. B. New bicycles come equipped with wheel reflectors. Suggested that existing bicycles be so equipped. C. The road north of the bridge at the east end (Power 1 to N68) is very slick after a rain and hazardous for bicycle riders. D. The machinist area in the shop used for welding should be pro vided welding screens. E. At the east end of the Styrene Rack, 1) U-bolts are missing on handrails 2) ladder rungs badly rusted 3) metal floor grating rusted through 4) some handrails rusted apart 5) pipe on steam trap drain rusted off G. New smoke shacks do not have the signs indicating smoking prohibited during fires and spills. H. The area on the south side of garage, marked off for fuel truck creates a hazard in that when the truck is parked there, it forms a blind spot for moving vehicles. I. Bus, when started up in morning, smokes up the shop. Should be parked outside. J. Contractor equipment working for Monsanto should be inspected. Example was a front-end loader had no brakes while in the plant for three weeks. K. The naphthalene loading-unloading operation creates strong odor in the Shops. There were complaints of sore throat on January 27. L. Badger personnel smoke in the streets between Departments 24 and 53. M. The new Disposal Contractor truck speeds in plant. The lids on the field units are a hazard to lift. N. Water on the floor in Department 42. Part of the problem could be solved by fixing leaking valves, etc. Supervision has been contacted. O. At the Bulk Loading Station, southwest of Department 35F, the hand rail posts were cut off when they should have been lengthened. The handrail is now too low. SC 14180 STG 2431025 LAM015969
