Beale, Chairman of the Board J. V. Gardiner, President S. P. Reeves, Vice President 1* K. Wilson, Vise President Leonard T. Beale,.Director The meeting was called to order by Hr. I. F. Beale, who presided, and Xr. A* X* Wilson reported the minutes of the meeting. The minutes of the meeting of September 13, were read and approved. Kr. Gardiner expressed appreciation of the visit whieh Hr. Shirley, Rational Lead Company's production manager, paid to our plant on September S3* On a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously approved that John T Lewis A Bros. Company should send one carton of cigarettes to each former employee now in the Armed Forces of the United States, as $ Christmas present, continuing the policy whieh started several years ago. There are currently sixty-eight members in the Armed Forces and it is estimated that the cost will be $75*00. Xr. Reeves reported the following comparative figures for the first eight months of 1942 and 1943, including estimated taxes but without including New York overheadj August First eight months 1943 - profit $4,699.46 1943 - profit $18O,0||.OQ 1942 - loss 20.50 1942 - profit 142,738.73 The regular report of shipments for the period ending September 24, was submitted by Xr. Wilson. There being no further business, upon motion the meeting adjourned.
