No*2 boiler was shut down Oct* 3 so that we could repair the jnotoriaed condensate make-up valve* The disc had unscrewed itself frenj
the stem nut* The seat was damaged very little. It was lapped in with the eat-disc* heat and disc were tac.c voided to valve assembly.
The west icat valve in the No*2 seal oil unit was checked for sticking. Valve was .'eaoved and not. i. g could be found wrong.
A'Hen the boiler was shut down, the master . lug on the east front Header leaked. This was removed. ?lug and gasket replaced.Ceat was \-k'. idler was returned to operation that same evening*
No.it boiler was turned over to ns Cct.6th to check and repair the steam air heater tubes that were leaking. >'e tested the coils with 125 lbs. cold water. Cne tube leaked on top* This was repaired and again tested. Ho other leaks were found.
.nsulati n was removed from inlet on outlet pipes from each coil, and Fagle pitcher Stalastic compound put in space between pipes and duct, '-'his was done with the thought that cold air wua coming inaid
from the duct , then getting between insulation and hot pipe and then condensing*
The beaTer was started at noon Cct.6th* Ho leaks have been reported.
A trench was dug in the north ash pond from the inlet pipe to the northeast corner*In three weeks time the trench and that corner of the lake is full of ashes* It looks like they are putting more is. than we are taking out*
h experiment was made on the center ash pend to see what was the bast way to move the ashes* The boiler seal overflow line that ran to this lake was ran over to the pump pend* It was found we cculd dig better with a drag line* The ashes were piled up to let the water run out, tr.en leaded in the trucks with a loader* ae are moving from 150 to 175 yards a day with two trucks* Contractors were called and bids made on this Job*
Jo.3 and U control air compressors were inspected and aftar coolers
cleaned* Ho*2 compressors low pressure cylinder was repacked. All compressors are new in service*
Mo* 5 wing conveyor belt ran over and rubbed the frame. et coal stuck to one of the pulleys and foreed the belt over* j-t cut the rubber off the north edge of the belt* This was trimmed and given repeated coats of Goodrich blastikon 16? adhesive*

na locomotive air compressor shaft pulley was rebuilt in machine
shop,
brake controls were replaced with a rebuilt unit.
Sew rubber bushings were installed in couplings on 3A and 30 cooling tower cells* biers and gear boxes were aligned. The back end of the motors are still join.,; down and tower twisting to the north* Dccie thing s going to have to ca dons to these cells orstty scon. The motors or gear boxes cant be much more, 13 cell motor was removed
again because of moisture* and baked. It is back .md in service.
Ho.1C boiler feed pump motor burnt up,Cct.lUth. The motor was removed and sent to raker ilectric.13 feed pnnp motor was moved over

The fan shaft has a sag in it.Fan was run with hot gas88 one night and then l9ft running for us to check,at the time it was 3till running out. >e will again try t,o run that fan wr.en. load permits so that we can see wbat It does when it is hot.
il was cranged in the service water tower gearboxes.
Nc.ii power pep was again reseated. It held for about 10 days*
.derations popped this valve and it would not reseat. Hus valve is out
