When we were at the EPA headquarters, Friday afternoon, November 14, 1975, we discussed the work of Dr. Allen at the University of Wisconsin. If my memory is correct, I believe you said that the PCB used by Dr. Allen did not have a lot number and was obtained from a secondary source. Do you know if this material had been previously used any where or was "fresh". You also stated that your analysts had noted two impurities in Dr. Allen's material, but had not yet identified either one of them, nor quantified their amounts. It would be extremely valuable in assessing, the significance of the various PCBs studies if we could have any of this information aa soon as it may become available. I don't know whether you heard the report of Dr. McNulty last Thursday night at the PCBs Conference, - the General Discussion Session. He has apparently confirmed Dr. Allen's observation of gastric lesions in rhesus monkeys fed PCBs.
