Although our California talc based products generally show no asbestos minerals at the lower limits of detectability by x-ray diffraction, they may occasionally show trace amounts (0.1% - 0.3%) of trernolite. Our program of continuing checks of airborne dust at our California Cyprus manufacturing plants indicate airborne fiber levels below the allowable TLV. In addition, these fiber checks are monitored by electron microscopy, resulting in a more accurate and sensitive test. Thus, we feel compliance is assured under the standard outlined in 1910.1001.
