As noted in our conclusions, we do not recosnend its use by operating telephone company personnel without a oreat deal'of training in both use of the kit and general laboratory safety. A recent article resorted in the August, 1982, American Industrial Hygiene Journal (attached) supports our recommendation. If it becomes imperative to have individuals caoabJe of on-spot analysis for asbestos, we feel there are better approaches than the K? test kit suggested by the OSHA compliance officer.
