I found two things wrong with the materialt "\ 1. It channels out very badly, and If a steady feed Is maintained it Is necessary for the nan feeding the ipachlne to keep pushing material Into the auger. It will not slide on its own accord. 2. A very unusual thing occurred. Every so often a ball of material would come throughtthe line. It would hit the ceiling In a ball, come off Immediately, and take off whatever happened to be up there. Coming out of the hose in a ball it, of course, was not wet when hitting the surface. After this occurred three or four times, we could tell by the sound of the machine when this was happening in the line, and the men would drop the blowing nozzle and let the ball hit the Bcaffold. This balled-up material 13 brownish in color with very fine particles. I dug through many bags in the hopper trying to find some explanation for what was taking place, but only came across a few strands of dark rock wool and two bandalds. I gave about twenty pounds of the material to Howard Tleman and asked that he forward it to you. Other than the items mentioned above the material is good. Machines are high speed screw machines and the noise level was terrific. I had a sound engineer take a reading before we started thg Job (100 DB) and he will take another after after It Is completed. I am sure he will be amazed at the results because he was not In entire agreement with what I proposed to do. We are about two-thirds finished and th8 owner Is satisfied already.
