They have completed the sputum analysis and he was just adding the finishing touches to the paper to be presented in Cambridge. The paper had to be sent today and he profusely apologized for not being able to give us a look at it before it was sent out. He will send copies, and if we find anything grossly in error, he will call England to make changes. However, we will not have an opportunity to do that at our leisure. 2. He is sending off the final articles to the British Journal of Occupational Medicine. 3. They have completed analyzing the data from the sputum tests and find that at low levels of exposure, the x-ray findings are better correlated with the sputum results than with the estimates of exposure. His statement is that the sputum gives relatively good results. Patrick Sebastien will present this paper in Cambridge in September. Patrick had indicated to me that he was not making a presentation but rather giving the data in a poster session. Corbett indicated that Patrick was wrong and that it was going to be one of the main papers. 4. In order to further evaluate the potentials for doing work with respect to South Carolina and the expanding plants, Corbett would like to come and have a sit-down session to discuss what might be available as far as records are concerned as well as approaches. He suggested 31 July or 1 August. I have checked with Jack who is unavailable that week and have suggested an alternative of the following week when he is available every day but the 7th. I assume that you will want to participate in such a meeting and, if so, could you check your schedule so that we can get back to Corbett as soon as possible on an appropriate date. 10002164 5. He seemed to have no objection and suggested that we schedule it as soon as possible if it is necessary to do so. I will not relay that information to Bakeman.
