Dear Mr. Webb: In accordance with your instructions I visited. West Bridgewaterr October 11, and saw Mr. SuPex*~ intendent of the Bulk Station of the ChippewsnJllu^^Sny A brief summary of the condition of which he complains is as fol lows: , ` . - On September 3, 1928, he cut his hand slightly while working on an ETHYL gasoline tank car. I believe he was stightening a union when the wrench slipped and cut M s hand. Shortly after he saw Dr. Porter of Beaver, Pennsylvania, who treated this condition as a pyogenic infection. During this time it was nec essary to lance the hand twice and both times some pus was obtained from the wound, '.Then I saw Mr. Engelman* s hand It presented an indolent granulat ing sore on the outer surface of the left hand near the junction of the ring and little fingers* There was also an adjacent small bai^-Dollicle infection. The wound was slightly tender and while apparently subsiding and responding to treatment, probably still contained a slight amount of pus. I talked with Dr. Porter and he felt that this was an ordinary hand infection, though he was somewhat distur bed at the tlength of time which it had been present. He had no opinion ito offer as to the possible complicating effect of ETHYL gasoline, and stated that he did not know whether this had influenced the condition or not* At the present time Mr. being treated by Dr. Porter and 1 believe his hand w H T p r ogress satisfactorily.
