,January 26 1948 Dr . F . E . Lanahan, Electric Storage Buttery Company, Allegheny Avenue and 19th Street, Philadelphia J2, Pennsylvania. Dear D r . Lenahan: ;ou herewith the analytical results on your patients, and A> I. have Indicated ^ i M j h ^ r e n d r t s , the lead concentrations in the H o o d and urine are within normal limits, while the findings in the case of Pandaravan are clearly indicative of significant lead exposure- within the recent past. You will note that there is a considerable discrepancy between the urinary lead concentration and that in the blood h this case. This suggests that there may hove seen some contamination of the sample of urine in the process oj. its collection. On the other hand, the lead concentration in the. blood is significantly high, and this might just be one of those high variants from the average anticipated result. In any case, I should consider that these findings justify the diagnosis of lead intoxication if the signs and symptoms are otherwise' compatible with that diagnosis. The symptoms which you describe do not appear.to be specific or necessarily diagnostic, and I should feel that yvrouunr* ndiieargrnrosisn uwronuld depend somewhat upon this man *s response ;-o.removal from exposure1. In any case , it is apparent that his lead exposure has sen 01 O V* t'J o XU --* * +-- I,* . f-VT>A . J- W Cordially V* W .J. Wv ^ IAK ef Enc. Loberl .enee D.
