Major items affecting production were: major repair work on D-400 agitator gearbox with the reactor being down the majority of the week; downtime associated with a plugged initiator injection line on D-300 reactor; and extended polymerization times on product lines associated with single initiator rather than dual initiator system for cost savings purposes. The D-400 gearbox is scheduled to be returned to service on July 30. Phase II of the 5305 0.68 viscosity test program was completed during the week. Trial quantities have been forwarded to PAL for testing. Packaging for the week totalled 290 M pounds. Resifting activities for the week for prof it improvement totalled 131 M pounds. Major items affecting productivity included a major product change on Line III and problems incurred dicing soft compounds on Line I. Production on Line III included a revised formula for 18031 Clear Blue utilizing a higher molecular weight resin. Production rates of this compound were increased by 45% over previous runs as a result of improved processability. Plasticizer operated three days averaging 70 M pounds per day.
