Dear Cal*
I have seen one of the simpler types of mercury detectors as supplied by the General Electr1o Company, and I am very much Interested in knowing that they have developed or are developing a more precise equipment for this purpose* Hot only am I interacted in this device in connection with mercury' closure, hut I am also definitely interected in the application of some such principle for the detection of tetraethyl lead* You are wellaware, no doubt, that the instrument would ho of very little use to us unless it would give fairly accurate quantitative figures* If' th5.a could be done* I am sure that we could find good use for such equipment. I Should bo very glad if you would keep in touch with this matter and further any developments so far as possible.
Sincerely yours.
